Today we bring you an interview with Dr. Jane Spiro. Jane works at Oxford Brookes University in the UK, where she is currently a Reader in Education and TESOL within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She is also the programme leader for the MA in Education and TESOL. She is the author of Creative Poetry Writing and Changing Methodologies in TESOL, as well as being a novelist and poet. Her research interests include teacher narratives, reflective practice and the connections between being creative practitioners and educators in language curriculums. All topics of which are touched upon in this episode’s interview. Matt caught up with Jane last November, before she was due to present as a featured speaker at the JALT 2015 conference.

In this episode, the TEFLologists were joined by Russ Mayne on his recent visit to Japan. Russ works at the University of Leicester where he teaches on an EAP program amongst other courses. Russ is also popularly known for his blog: Evidence Based EFL, in which he looks at language teaching through an evidence-based lens. Russ also tweets @ebefl
